How to build better relationship between teachers and students?

Shweta S.

Successful teachers are the ones who have the potential to optimize the learning ability of all the students in their classes. Creating a positive relationship with students at different age levels improves students motivation, peer relationship and helps to address behavioral problems.

It is essential that teachers earn students’ trust early on in the year. A trusting classroom with mutual respect would naturally build and sustain a positive environment.  Teachers should explain clear expectations to their students. Rules and regulations should be sensible and constantly reinforced. In these situations, a student’s trust in their teacher will increase and they will understand that their teacher has their best interest at heart.

Teachers should incorporate humor into their daily lessons. Students will enjoy coming to the class because they love to laugh and learn.  Every student has a passion for something.
Teachers should use these interests and passion to their advantage by incorporating them into their lessons.

Developing a positive teacher-student relationship takes significant time and effort; however, the benefit of both, the teacher and student are unmeasurable.
